Our first ever hatchling!!

stephluvsgeckos Jul 22, 2006 11:22 PM

This little baby hatched out today after incubating for 50 days. I'm sure he's a normal but his parents were a super hypo and a hi yellow, any chance that the black will disappear at all? How much does the coloring usually change as they shed and grow?

i hatched a baby that looked even slightly darker than yours and she now has virtually no black on her back, only brown on the head... you'll be very surprised by how much black disappears, assuming the parents are indeed lacking black aslo - if the high yellow has a lot of dark markings you may not see too much of a lighten up, but you should definitely be able to notice change even over the course of 2-3 sheds. good luck.

Congrats on the new baby! I'm not positive how much the black will clear up, but I'm sure alot of it will go away. Show us some photos as the baby gets older.
