Feeding once a week or every other week?

twilightfade212 Jul 22, 2006 11:34 PM

I have been feeding my two kings a medium mouse every other week. I didn't know if it would be better to feed them a small mouse every week, or just stick to my plan. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I feed once a week sometimes two UNTIL i notice a overweight problem, then i go to once every two weeks UNTIL i notice a too skinny problem then i go back to once or twice a week.

My big king - I was feeding him once a week - but he wouldn't always eat. When he ate, he would eat one mouse. He was skinny for a King, but didn't look too bad. Now he has decided he wants to eat every week, and multiple mice. He was eating three - but after he started to look fatter than the kings I see out in the wild, I cut him down to two a week.

My little guys - I was feeding them about every two weeks, they weren't skinny - but they weren't growing like what I saw described here. So I started feeding them once a week, and they were eager to take it - and are growing faster now. They are also spending more time on the warm side of the cage now (I keep them together for now in a rather large cage) - well, when it is cool enough for me to turn on the heat (it only goes on morning and evening on days with a forcast < 100F as I don't have AC)

My little cal girl, she was definitely too skinny, seller told me (before purchase) she had been on a feeding strike and just recently started eating again. I just got her this month, and I've been feeding her about every 5 days just to try and get some meat on her, and I'm feeding her more than my young males of about the same length, and she's just an eating machine. She still looks skinny, but she is putting on weight.

My little pyro pyro (about 20 inches, I haven't precisely measured - she'll be a year old in 6 days) - I'm giving her 2 large pinkies (just beginning to fuzz) once a week, but I noticed today she was hunting, so I may need to give her more. Fuzzies she can't handle, though she tries - her head is just too small.
