Hey, I have a friend who has a baby leo tort that is frequently pooping white pellets. Does anyone know what this could be and what he should do to help the tort?

For reptiles, this white substance (urates) in the feces is the end product of digesting proteins.

It should be smooth and pasty. If it is coming out hard like a pebble, then the tortoise may have a problem, possibly with the kidneys. Or it may not be getting enough water.

Just make sure the tortoise gets a varied, herbivorous diet, has plenty of water to drink, an occassional soak, right temperatures, blah, blah, blah...
