has anyone ever heared of this place. not to dog them or anything by no means....i was just wondering if they were known to have good animals. i know that when you say bloods....alot of ppl think about pro exotics....but they are half way across the us from me.....and strictly is kinda close. they said that they had just got them in for this coming week....so when my store places their order i am thinking of ordering one.....they are on sale for 60 bucks. i know that that is cheap as crap.....but i called down there and they told me that they were captive bred....so that is what i am going on. also any good easy caging ideas are welcome....just wont to make this snake as happy as i can.....and if anyone has any secrets they would like to share....im open for ideas!!

The best route to go for a cage for bloods is the rubbermaid sweater box route..... For great humidity... I keep my baby bloods in rubbermaids like 20 inches long,12 inches wide and 5 inches high.I drill holes for ventilation and make 2 hides. one being a spahgnum hide and the other a tight fitting claypot hide. Also a water bowl. I use this really fine top grade A cypress mulch I got at d&j reptiles, holds great humidity also, cause my bloods love to burrow. But $60 for any blood is really cheap, so you should look more into the deal. Do you have the number of the place your thinking of getting the bloods??????? if so can you email it at jayskee@comcast.net.....Thanks.........Joe

You should spend the extra bucks and buy a CB from a reputable breeder.
60 bucks is far from even a low price for a captive bred blood python, so you'll be getting what you pay for.
if this is your first blood python, i will assume you will want a flawless specimen which wont need any immediate vet trips or harbour tics/mites not to mention 6 inch tape worms and other internal parasites.
I will also assume you wont want to have to deal with a non-feeder and you'll want your blood to feed from the get-go.

A little bit of research and extra cash goes along way in this hobby. why settle for anything less then perfection when it comes to buying a snake???

Drive across the country to get a healthy snake if need be or spend the money to have it shipped by someone who knows what they're doing.
Surely, it will equal or be less then all the constant vet trips to get antibiotic injections for respiratory infections, fecal floats, meds for deworming, etc...etc..etc...

60 bucks is a starting price for "just in" animals. Whichever ones survive a month will double in price. They dont have to feed, house, or treat any conditions in the snake. Thats up to the person who only spent 60 bucks on them.

Possibly, you could get a really healthy snake with no problems at all, but do you really think that is what is going to happen???

well i was just wondering. my store that i work at has ordered reptiles from them before.....and they were all in good health. this is the first time that i had seen bloods on their list.....and they told me that they were captive breed. i also asked about blackthroat monitors....and which he told me that they came into the country on friday....so i thought that i could trust them.

...it is amazing to see the variety of animals they offer, including rare and pricey herps of all kinds. Their prices are very reasonable on most common Boids, and I haven't seen any that were obviously wild caught. I think they have the mentality of selling a lot of animals at a good price rather than trying to sell less for more $.
ALL THIS TO SAY that it would be worth talking with them and getting details. You might get a super animal at a great price.

1) yes you can call a snake c.b. if it's farm bred out of the country...still c.b. somewhere right? Probably infested with mites and so on! Spend the extra money and buy c.b. I learned this the hard way with chondros buying w.c. or farm bred. When it comes to animals you should buy from a repituable breeder. I don't care if it's $300 more then everyone else is asking. You will always get help with your questions or problems. Everything works to your advantage. Or you can buy from just any store and something goes wrong and your on your own. Save the money and have Tons of problems or spend a bit more and not have to worry about the problems. It's up to you but in my opionion there is no comparison!
