CAN SOMEONE TELL ME??

MarcS Jul 23, 2006 08:44 AM

One of my new boas that I bought looks to have a eye problem. I never seen an eye cap before, never had a snake that had one. Anyway the eye is cloudy like there is something there also the outer layer is indented and loose. Can you tell me what you see in the picture.

Here is the left eye (normal)

Here is a couple of shots of the bad right eye.

might be an infection. best advice is to take it to a vet it definately isnt normal. Worse case scenario the snake will lose its eye.

It does not really look like a retained eye cap to me,rather more like an infection. A vet visit asap is definitely in order. I wish you the best, and keep us all updated.

Do you feed live? If so it looks like the mouse may have clawed his eye. I would get to the vet and get some topical antibiotic ointment. I would apply that every day until he sheds and hopefully it will shed out. It looks like an infection is already starting in the eye due to the cloudiness. Good luck with him. Vinnie
