How long do they pipe & bedding

stiletto Jul 24, 2006 07:22 AM

Yesterday had one snake come clean out of his egg, and three more are piping. How long do they tend to pipe?

Does everyone just use a moist paper towel to line their baby cages? I put a damp paper towel and a bit of moss for it to use as a hide spot. Tried to take a picture but my camera is not taking good pictures without good light. The flash is too much and room lighting is too little.

After sitting in those eggs for 73 days, you would think they would be ready to get the heck out of dodge!

No joke! thats what I said. You see on nature shows that snakes come right out of the egg. Must be time lapse photography or something. Most of my corns sat for two, three days after pipping. I even named one lazy, as it was first to pipp, last to fully emerge.
I use paper towels in my hatchling containers. They have a tendency to hide under the paper towel, eventhough I provide a hide.
More waiting. i know it sucks, but don't prod or poke at them. They will end up emerging with yolk sacks still attatched.
Good luck
