ok i will be sending out my first gecko on monday..i already have a nice sized box and deli cups, packing stuff, etc. My question is this...the temperatures on monday and tuesday for the area between my house and the shipping destination shouldn't be more extreme then a low of 71 and a high of about 85...do i need a cold pack or should those temps be acceptable??

my second problem is how to ship it because my local UPS store told me that they can't ship reptiles...there are other UPS drop-off locations in my area though...suggestions????

You need to open an account online with UPS and use their contact form or email customer support and let them know what you want to ship and how you'll be shipping it. Be as descriptive as possible, because they'll have to fill out a form, or FAX it to you, which will be returned to a district office of some sort. The district person will approve your shipments and send you a letter saying it's authorized. Then, show that to the UPS store and they'll let you. You may want to find the distro center, though, so the gecko doesn't have to stay at the UPS store. Ask them what they'll do, because the UPS Store next to my house keeps the packages inside until just before the trucks go out in the evening, which is better than sitting on the truck outside all day.

What kind of boxes/packaging are you using?
