Congrats.. They look good so far! Please post some pix when they are out of the egg..

What locality are they and how many hatched in the clutch?

They are non locale. She layed 13 eggs. 1 was crushed on the way out. I guess you can call it and egg. 3 were slugs, and 1 was eggbound. That leaves 8 eggs, but 1 of those looks bad. 6 Have pipped so far, but only 1 has left the egg. I'm waiting on the last one. 1 was translucent, and it hatched. The 3 slugs were translucent and rotted. I won't count any eggs out. The 1st baby out looks like the mother. I'll post hatchling pics when they all hatch. They went right at 60 days. Derek

By the way, your eggs are much prettier than mine. Mine looked kind of striated. I wasn't sure if they got too much humidity or not. How many did you get? How are you incubating them? Derek

This female gave me 17 good eggs. Which is the largest GBK clutch I have ever had... All the eggs still look good & are due to hatch on August 5th... Also, I double clutched this female & as of this morning she was digging in the lay box & should lay her second clutch of the year in the next day or two..

I use an incubator with a Helix temp controller set to 82 degrees.. I set the eggs in about 3.5" of damp vermiculite inside a sealed rubbermaid food storage container.. i only put one small hole in the side of the rubbermaid & i open the box every once in a while to inspect the eggs & to change the air.. Although, i really dont know how important it is to change the air...
