sexing a peublan

vjl4 Jul 24, 2006 04:22 PM

Hello all,

I just adopted a nice little pueblan from a friend who moved out of the country and was curious what sex it was. But I cant find to what depth males and females probe to. Anybody know?

Thanks,
Vinny

Hey Vinny,

in my experience, when I probe, I can tell if its a male immediately if the probe slides in nicely. If its a female, it won't go in at all really. But I never count scales because you don't need to. It either goes in nice and easy or it doesn't.

I think the rule of thumb is 2-3 scales female, if 4 plus male.

If you've never done it before you may want to get some more specific instruction on how to do it. Make sure to use alot of lube.

email me if you want me to walk you through it.

Dave
