My adult cali king is the most active snake I have. He is in constant motion and a very agressive feeder( small rat once a week). I kept him in a 41qt sterilite but he kept "mounding" his aspen till it filled his water bowl up. I have since moved him to a large glass tank so I can enjoy watching him move about all day and night. Is he on crack? Also he seems to be a very slow striker and misses his mice more than not when I run out of frozen feeders. One funny example of this is that he will sometimes miss the mouse and grab his own tail!! I can even move my hand when he strikes before he can grab me (strong feeding response)otherwise he handles well. Is this common to cali kings. I have no other experience since this is my only one.
he has grown almost 10 inches since this pic was taken in January
