Hi everyone,

I AM the PROUD PAPA of some newly hatched Alb. Sonoran Gophers!! YIPEEE!!! Eight out of my twelve Alb. Sonoran Gophers have hatched out so far. All the blotching on the babies so far is orange. I was wondering? When do the blotches change to red like the adults? Do some stay orange?

There is so much variation with the Sonorans, but many are either orange or yellow and red. If they hatch out orangish, they probably won't get really red. Are the parents more red than orange? We have usually tried to pair up the reddest ones together and the orange ones together to get two distinct looking variations.
