I just bought a baby ball python about 2 months ago.
She hasn't shed once since I got her.
And once I brought her back from the pet store, I noticed that she had a dry patch of skin on her head.
I've tried soaking her in water for about 10 minutes.
And I mist her cage every day. And theres a wet paper towel under both her hide spots (an upside down flower pot and a cave).
I have a heat lamp on the top left side of the cage.
The temperature during the day gets to be about 90 degrees.
And 75 at night.
What I'm wondering is:
1. Does my ball python have a skin disease?
2. How often are babies (1 to 2 months old) supposed to shed?
3. Is there anyway I can take the piece of skin of manually?
(I've read that dry patches of skin will cut off the snakes
circulation)
4. When pet stores (family owned/small business) have a bunch of baby snakes on sale "Ball Pythons"......are they captive bred or imported?
5. When she sheds in the future, will the dry piece of skin come off with the rest of her shed?
