Umbilical cord

stiletto Jul 25, 2006 07:01 AM

Is it common for them to emerge from the egg with the umbilical cord still attached? I have one that still has his cord. I figured it would just fall off if I leave it alone for a couple of days, but figured it would be best to check with everyone.

I would make sure you have it on a damp paper towel. If the umbilical cord dries and sticks to something before coming off, it could pull the intestines out of the snake.
