crested gecko eggs.....

djzion Jul 25, 2006 10:18 AM

quick question hopefully someone will know the answer to... i try to keep track of when my female crested is gonna lay eggs.. but sometimes its off by a few days wich is fine but then she throws me a curve and drops 2 eggs. sometimes its the good part off a day before i find em. they are usually collapsed on one side. why is this? are they duds? is it to dry or too hot in the cage? if i get them into the conditions the need will they "re-inflate" and go to term? ive only caught her right after laying eggs once and i incubated those and got them to hatch so i know how to take care of eggs, so if i take my little dented ones and take care of them will the be ok? she layed them last night sometime and i found them about 20 mins ago and they are slightly dented. any opinions would be great! thanx!

Where are the crested laying the eggs. I have potted plant in my gecko enclosures. By watering every week, the soil stays moist and the eggs come out ready for the incubator. Check the area they are laying in and make sure there is some moisture available.
If the eggs are slightly, 10-20%, 'dented', they will be fine to incubate.
Good luck,
Wally
