How do you know if it is Ghost?

I have a pair of 100% hets. The male came from a proven line of ghost and the female came from a wild caught what is thought to be ghost. I hatched out 7 eggs and 3 look a different. The head is pale and the gold is much brighter. Is the only way to tell if the shed is clear?? Or do these sound like ghost?? Does the color change a lot after the first shed?? Thanks
