Perlite ????

geckoguy_ottawa Aug 03, 2003 01:25 AM

Just wondering if anybody else uses the Albey's method for incubating. I did everything according to their website, but to me the perlite still seems dry. Is it supposed to feel that way?
Also the perlite that I have is pretty chunky. Should I crush some of it to make it fine? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jason

it should feel relativly dry. you dont want the substrate to be too wet, or the eggs will die. the humidity in the air is all that matters.

It'll feel wet on the surface, because the water has sunk down to the bottom. Rest assured, it's still enough to maintain humidity.

Hey, I use albey's method and it works for me.. as for chunky perlite and dryness and what not, don't worry, the perlite I use is also chunky. as for dryness, just worry about the humidity of the container, not how dry the perlite is.
