Has anyone ever seen this?

How about this one?

Has anyone ever seen this? I have a Peruvian Red Tail female. She is 8 years old this year. She was born here. This year I bred her for the first time. She is 6.5' long. She bred just like she was supposed to. She ovulated "by the book". She ovulated March 26th. She had her P.O.S. on April 12th just like clockwork. She is due July 26th. That's tomorrow but there is one odd thing I have not mentioned yet. About a week ago I noticed she was turning opaque. Two days ago she was at the peak of "opaqueness". Fully opaque. She looks perfect other than this one tiny little "not by the book" little discrepancy. She ate throughout the pregnancy like most of my females do. She has lost a lot of weight up front like the females that have good litters always do. Her backbone is sticking way up as she looks perfect, absolutely perfect to deliver a nice litter of little gems. All except this opaque thing. Now I think she will shed in three or four days, take a little poop and just have the babies right there but who knows? I and she have never been here before and I am wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen to one of their animals before.

What are your predictions?

I had a couple shed through pregnancy...and one shed and had babies within a couple days...I just figured she had grown so big with babies.. she needed a shed...is it that unusual? Andy

But I have never ever had one be opaque this close to the due date let alone be in this stage of the shed cycle basically when due to give birth. I can't wait to see these puppies! She is a beauty!

I just had a female deliver that had a POS 2 intermediate sheds and shed again 7 days after delivering. I fed her up until the last 4 weeks, she delivered day POS 110, 30 live, 1 still, 3 slugs. Good luck!

I will purchase one of those offspring. Oops, you're not looking for that kind of prediction are you? Sorry, I should never post on the forum after happy hour.......

I'm not sure if this means anything, but my Argentine female always sheds once during gestation and usually has good healthy litters....but, the only times I've had it happen with BCI I've ended up with still borns or a premature litter with a high infertile ratio. The BCC? Who knows, but I would guess closer biologically to BCC than BCI.....so I suppose my prediction is a healthy litter. Good luck.

before with different females. The current female went into a shed at day 103 and just finished. Unfortunately for me this always means sluggs or no pregnancy. The current female was text book in every way until the shed. Now I assume the worst.
Best of luck to you.

Right now I am dealing with a female that never had her pos, looks great, is on day 118 after ovulation, and is dead in the middle of a shed cycle, she looks prego without a doubt, weightloss up front etc. The other weird thing is the shed cycle she had before breeding lasted over a month. When I picked her up for the breeding loan she was very opaque, and the following month when I saw the owner again she still had not shed. She obviously needs to watch your video to figure out how she is suppose to do things. Good luck with your litter, I will let you know how mine goes. Craig Kade

Craig, with your luck she will pop out with thirty sunglows. Ive tried to breed her for three years now and had no success I guess the last Boa doesnt help. Take care Brad Boa
