Sunglows have to eat too

RyanHomsey Jul 25, 2006 08:34 PM

Chomping down a medium rat.

I just moved from MI to FL and had temporary bowls in there that were too tipsy, he knocked it over and got newspaper inc all over his face. He's due for a shed soon. I normally wait until after they shed and are in their prime but he decided to hang out of his tub while eating. So I seized the opportunity of course.

A flash shot for good measure:

All of the pics were white balanced calibrated except for the flash shot... which I forgot to take a whibal pic of... its close enough though, settle down.

I have got to get me a SunGlow!!! Yours is very nice Ryan!!!

I have a possible chance with some being cooked in momma's oven right now...but she really did not look to ovulate the way I would have liked...I hope there are healthy ones inside as they will also be het Anery! She looks gravid...but I have seen that produce slugs before...But I am hoping for the best! Andy

I had to use special settings (high ISO and large aperatures) to take such pictures in no-flash lighting.

Hard to achieve without a digital SLR camera.

There's also no way I would be able to get the color right if I didnt have a white balance card. (www.whibal.com)

Thanks for the compliments.

Cmon down Ed. Summer here all year long. Saves a bundle on heating bills, lol.

I have moved twice now with my collection of boas. I package them up as if I were going to ship them. I keep heating packs on hand and regulate the temperatures inside the car using the ac/windows and a digital thermostat (probe placed in one of the boxes). It has worked perfect for me thus far. I drive easy and handle the boxes like theyre gold. I think the stress is fairly minimal.
