Tim,
I found another camera that seems to match the Nikon D50. It's the Pentax *IST. The big difference is the price. Do you know if pic quality is same as the D50?

Hey Joel..
The Pentax is a great camera.. The lens selection is a not as nice as canon or nikon, and the image buffer and continuous shooting mode is not on par with the Canon/Nikons.. but it is a very capable camera. Check out www.dpreview.com. There are both reviews of each of the 3 cameras you are looking at, and forums that are brand specific.. so you can get a lot of insight there. The reviews are usually pretty straight forward and don't seem to show to much bias.. the forums on the other hand.. you will certainly find people that champion their favorite brands.
