Burrying in Substrate

fluffylufagus Jul 26, 2006 02:51 AM

Ok, it's been forever since I've had a ball python, so I have to ask...

Is it normal for them to burry themselves in the substrate? For some reason I don't recall any of my previous snakes doing this, and have noticed this odd behavior (well, what I think is odd anyway) in my female. Haven't seen this with the male though. Had a few good panic attacks thinking she had escaped only to find her curled up underneath the substrate, and with it perfectly distributed over her. (shrugs)

Thanks.

There is no need to be rude...I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a sign of her not feeling well.

As I said...there's no need to be rude about it. I was just wondering about it because she just recently started this behavior. But thanks for the reply anyway.

Fluffy -

Pythoner sticks a little "blurb" into his posts when he puts "n/p" in the subject line, meaning "no post" or "no message, its all in the subject line". Its intended as a joke, and not intended to be rude. Herp was responding to Pythoner's statement of reading the text in the message being a waste of time, again intended as a joke, and not intended to be rude. Forums like this develop into a community where the "regulars" know each other, and get to know each others' personalities. However, when a new person enters, all they see is the text, no facial expressions, no voice inflections, and "jokes" come across as "rudeness". I hope you'll go back and take another look at the thread, and realize that no harm was intended on anyones' part.

Steve
