Honduran Incubation time?

colubrids Jul 26, 2006 11:17 AM

What is the normal expected hatch time for honduran eggs incubated at 82 degrees? I am on day 60 currently and figure they should be pipping any day now. These are my first honduran eggs though so I thought I would ask.

Thanks

If incubating at 82 degrees they should starting piping sometime between now and 70 days. Good luck. Randy W.

Thanks for the input. It seems that so much has gone haywire this breeding season. I am wanting these honduran eggs to go smoothly. They look good though so I will just wait to see whats in them. It was a cross of a Tangerine albino and a tricolored het for albino. Out of a clutch of seven only two were good so I look forward to seeing what's in there. On day 62 now!

For some reason they take longer than the "standard" 60 day colubrid egg incubation time... but they're worth the wait.

Ditto what's been said...just had 12 hondos hatch between day 69 and 70. Kept at 82 pretty steady. I was sooo sure that they would go term before that, that I had to leave them with my grandson while I went to the Huacuchas and Chiricahuas. We missed the rains there by a day, but went I got back yesterday, we had 12 for 12. Grandson , bless his heart, get "pick of the litter" for his help.
Which brings me to an awkward question...I can't keep all these babies...if I wholesale to a decent local dealer, what kinda of mark-up can I figure on, so that we both do alright? Is there an industry standard? ie: wholesale is 20% less than retail, etc. Anybody help?

I wish they would hurry up and Pip. I am full of anticipation for this clutch.
