Bark anoles

DonnaJ Aug 03, 2003 06:29 AM

I noticed earlier in the week it was said that bark anoles are easy to care for. I like their appearance and was considering one. I read in a Reptile Keeper Guide for Anoles that bark anoles are difficult to keep because of their predominantly ant diet and they "urge that bark anoles not be purchased". Does anyone have any a. distichus and what is your success? I'm curious. Thanks>

Hi there,

I have anolis distichus dominicensis and i have never had any problems with them. I have them for a few years now and they never got any ants from me and from the breeder i got them from. i dont think they realy need them. They are doing verry well, the animals look good and breed verry fast. They eat just about anything i give them as long as its not to big.

They might be a little hard to get. I have never seen them in any stores or something. The animals i have are youngsters from wild captured animals that someboddy took home from vacation.
