Caging question...

royreptile Jul 26, 2006 02:06 PM

Hey everyone,
I've been looking in to getting a new cage for my Yellowtail when I move, and I'm considering a cage from Boaphile plastics. Have you guys had any experience with them before. They seem to be the only place to have shippable six foot plastic cages. Are there any other good, waterproof, six foot, shippable cages that you guys know of for a good price? Another thing is I don't necessarily need the cage right now, he's in a 4' by 2' by 3' cage right now (l/w/h) and he's righ at 67". The thing is I would rather have a cage with more length to it, as opposed to so much height that he doesn't often utilize.

You might want to try Amimal Plastics. They have some nice ones.

i just received four six foot cages from animal plastics and i love them. took about two weeks to get them. there's some minimal assembly required. i asked for the door hinges to be placed so that the doors swing down instead of sideways and they did it with no problems. they use 1/2 inch controlled density PVC, it's strong, not too heavy, and easy to work with (i put in computer fans, "subterrainean" hides and my own lighting).

Where can I buy computer fans? I've done some searching but can't find the small ones!

Thanks,

Bill

i use "Case" fans. i got my first batch at Frye's in CA. i think they were about $9 each. go online and google electronic supplies and you should find several sources.

Boaphile has great cages and options. My only concern is that you better order a couple months before you need them as they have so many orders it will take that long to get them.

I'm slowly replacing all my cages with boaphiles.
