Daytona Question - F Het Pied?

zombielove Jul 26, 2006 03:54 PM

I will be at the Daytona Expo. I have a Male Het for Piebald who is ready to breed [he's about 3 years old now]. I am looking for a Female Het Pied to go with him to breed maybe next year or the year after.

My question is how much do you think I would be able to buy one for in Daytona coming up?

And why is it so dang hard to find Hets these days!?

Trust me, if I could afford the real thing... I would buy it! lol

Well I doubt you will be able to find a female that is ready to breed in Daytona (or pretty much anywhere for that matter). I don't think anyone is selling larger female hets. You might be able to get some yearlings at decent prices as I seem to remember a good number last year in Daytona. I am not sure what kind of prices they will be commanding this year but hopefully a good deal will be there to be had as I am looking for a pair myself.

Well i'm looking for a female that will be ready to breed in a year or two. But i'll get a hatchling if I can afford it better.

Good luck to you! Thanks for the reply.

if I had to make a guess on what 05's were going for there last year I'd say you could probably pick up a yearling in the range of 500-650 for around 1500-2000, anything larger and most breeders are holding onto them. You may be able to find an early 06 there for about 750-1000 if you can get to them at the bar in the Hilton, I know I'll be there at least one night, lol. I myself am looking for the next to impossible, a yellow-belly female around 800-1000g and at the right price, so who know's, ole' Ralphie did say it would be flea market mentallity this year, lol.

Well I'll have no problem with getting a hatchling if its cheaper. I'm hoping that maybe I can find a 50% or 66% het with markers because i'm totally strapped on cash, but that's still kinda tricky. tricky tricky.

I'm going to be working at the expo, so i'm not totally sure how much time i'll have to look around. But I am definately going to take some time to look.

By the way, I love your signature. I had a red nose pitbull when I was 7. I think they're the sweetest dogs in the world if they're raised right.

Thanks again!
