I have a six month old leopard tort. He seems healthy and active overall. However, I noticed about a week ago that his tongue has a bit of a brown speck on it. It's right in the middle on the top of the tongue. I can't tell if the color has spread, but it's been there for over a week now.
I was hand feeding him today to check the spot out and noticed that around his mouth, right on the inside, he has black, what looks to be, food build up.
I have tried to brush any access food off of his mouth with a soft toothbrush. I don't want to hurt him, so I don't press very hard, but I can't get it off.
I don't know whether this is a sign of mouth rot or not. Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing?
Thanks
