Opinions and thoughts needed...

Okay, I now have my 20gal long set up exactly the way I want it, and exactly the way you all have described (for the most part) of having things needed by leos to thrive. I have a hide at both ends, a watering hole, a bit to climb on, as well as a feeding/vitamin stone where I set my shallow feeding dish. My question is, I have a digital thermometer with an outdoor sensor which is attached to the bottom of my humid hide. Therefore it is reading the temp of the substrate directly under my hide. Right now it is at 91.3 degrees. I have gradually been lowering the rheostat, so that should come down the few extra degrees in the next day or so... is this a suitable temp for my leo to be introduced to her tank now? I have a substrate reading of 77.3 at the cool end, so I have a good gradient... what do you all think??

Even if it stayed at 91 it would be ok. The perfect temp on the warm side is 88 but anything near it is ok too as long as they can get away to a cooler spot if they want. Sounds like you know what your doing, although you didn't say what you are going to use for substrate?

Well, I'm using a 2:1 mix of fine grain Marine sand and Calci-sand with blocks of slate.. I didn't want to start another impaction debate, so I just left that out.

Hey Jeff your setup sounds like a good thing to me. The temps are ok (88-91) but try not to get any higher. The geckos can regulate when they feel the need. Good luck with the setup.
