beardie wont eat his veggies???!???

jessie06 Jul 27, 2006 05:22 PM

I just got a new baby beardie and I'm having trouble getting him to eat his veggies. I read on the forum about baby food (squash), dropping the crickets on the salad, different bowls or paperplate, waiting to feed bugs later on in the afternoon. I've done all those things and he still wont eat he just picks at it. If I put baby food on it he just licks it off the lettuce and wont eat it all together. I've also tried buying all different sorts of greens bok choi, romaine, red leaf, dandelion greens, collard greens, spinach, turnip greens, kale, limabeans, strawberries, raspberries, and mango! Nothing works! I would appreciate any other suggestions?!?
Thanks, Jessica

Do not be concerned that your new little one is not eating veggies yet. Give him a month or two. Right now in this stage of their lives it is much more fun to chase crickets and eat them. Eating veggies are not so fun. Keep putting them in his tank every day. One day soon you will find that they are scattered all over his tank. Just be patient, he will eat them when he is ready.

This may sound neurotic...but mine were doing that too, and what I did was juiced veggies and feed them through an eye dropper...it seemed that it did the trick and ever since they love their salads ect;
