Pics of our little friend, and farewell

a_wasted_mind Jul 27, 2006 07:04 PM

Hi, Just wanted to share some pics of our little friend, we are in the process of finding it an adopted home... When we got it, we were told he was an Eastern Chain-King, but I honestly have no clue how to tell, but here he is

Someone emailed me and told me he didn't look like an Eastern... they said possible a black integrade with FL?? I am lost on this, so if you can, your input would be apprectiated!

Also, he is 3 and 1/2 feet long and aprox 1 1/2 to 2 years old. Sex is unknown, but my fiance thinks he is a male and she has acuarately guessed 4 of our pythons before we had the vet probe them to be certain, she has been 100% so far.

Looks like possibly a black king... maybe a yuma king... also looks like a desert king or a black/speckled king intergrade.

I am by no means an expert, but when I saw the first picture I automatically thought Splendida. Then when I saw the full body I came up with Yumensis.

I thought yumensis or perhaps splendida.

Your guy looks a lot my girl "PsychoFatty". Note the multiple pale cross bars rule out nigrita and getulus, lack of speckles on each dorsal scale rules out holbrooki, narrow cross bars don't fit floridana.

My guess is splendida X nigra intergrade, which is what I belive PsychoFatty is.

Below are some pics to compare. On your sanke look for the "black sock-head", mostly black belly, all or nearly all side scales with light spots or speckles.

If you are looking for someone to adopt and can't find someone, send me an email.

Beat regards,

John D
