My gecko keeps trying to dig...

Siminix Jul 27, 2006 08:47 PM

My gecko (female) keeps trying to dig her way through the paper towels in her cage, but only around the heating pad. Even when she does get through the paper towel, she tries to dig through the bare bottom of the terrarium to get to the heating pad... is this normal?

Do you have a moist hide? Like was said before, digging usually that means they want to lay eggs, but I have seen some leos just like to rearrange their homes. Check your temperatures to make sure she isn't trying to dig to someplace cooler as they would in the wild and maybe offer a cool side moist hide, at least then she could dig in the moss, maybe?
