My first ever hatchings!

Joeycoco98 Jul 27, 2006 09:47 PM

On May 27th my Florida laid her 11 eggs. On July 27th I come home to this little one peeking out! I lost her first set of eggs last year to my ignorance now I have success! I think I am keeping all 11 how can I choose between my first born!

I know the pics suck but I was so excited to post them.

Thanks for sharing this with me,
Miller

Oh you have no idea (Actually you do). I am hoping some more pip tonight. I wanna skip work tomorrow so badly! I wish it would come out he is still just staring at me but does not appear to be frightened. I thought he would show some yellow. the dad whas Het for hypo and all yellow and the mom is a normal south florida. She is not super yellow by anymeans but this babies head is white and black. Maybe in my first clutch I will get some unexpected types. Thanks for the congrats!

Thanks its an awsome sight the first time you peek in and see a little snake looking back at you. Makes the wait not seem so long. 11:09PM and still no others pipping. I can't wait to get home from work tomorrow.

Congrats on the 1st hatch!! I hatched my first clutch of Albino Corns back in 1993 and have had eggs just about every year there after and i still get excited when my eggs are about to hatch..

Then back in 2000 i came home from a cruise to find that a clutch of 26 Chondro eggs had all hatched out while i was away.. It was tough to be upset about it, but i sure was pissed off that i missed seeing them pop out!

Now this year my 1st clutch of Gray Bands is due to hatch the first weekend of August & i am blowing off a family trip to our house upstate NY so i don't miss it.. it's a sickness!

To quote a line from a song... "If there's cure for this I don't want it, if there's a remedy I'll run from it". . I don't think I will breed my Florida again next year but i will be breeding my Easterns in a couple of years. I hope I have the will power to wait that long.

Thanks guys for all the nice commments. Four the eleven have pipped the first guy that pipped yesterday is out of the egg. When should I become concerned about the remaining seven? I am on day 63.

Thanks,
Miller
