Hi,

This is my first post in the "Viperidae" forum. I've been intrigued with venomous snake for sometime now, and decided to give it a shot. I know copperheads are very common, but it's a good venomous snake to start with...

I bought him at the Hamburg show this past Saturday. I hope you like the pic. He's a CB baby.

That's awsome. I was at the Hamburg show and it was great. My dad picked up a nice two foot Southern copperhead. Is that a broad band copperhead? Did you see the spitting cobra with the venom sprayed all over its cage? We also picked up a baby male Afrock that ate a F/T mouse last night and a small female Western hognose. I also got a sweet Grip1 hook for 20 and a mini hook for 10. How's your copperhead. Ours is pretty docile, but at first shakes her tail a lot. Since it's a venomous snake and I'm only 13 I'm not allowed to handle it. The only time I really get to handle it is with my dad. I don't really handle it, just kind of pick it up with the hook and stuff. Later when I get more practice I'll be able to handle it with a hook and my hands, but for now I just get to watch. BTW, do you know if any good herping spots around the NJ area? I heard the NJ Pinebarrens were good, but they're pretty far away. Thanks.
