Jim and Others... Tri Breeding Size/Wei

LeosAnonymous Jul 28, 2006 02:28 PM

Hey guys,

Just curious what breeding weight/size you guys use for your female tri's.

I'm anxious to get a clutch asap, but I don't want to breed an undersized female.

Hi Ross,
I wait until mine are about the size of a penny, not a dime but a penny or bigger. Nothing else matters. I don’t think you can breed a female that is not ready. If she’s not ready she won’t breed! I don’t think male snake just go around breeding with little baby females and then they get egg bound from it and die. Mine will breed at 10- months and at about the size of a penny. Not that there is anything wrong with letting them get bigger and Im not saying you should let a female breed if she is unhealthy but that is my minimum size and I have never had a problem with it. But if someone else can convince me otherwise I would love to hear it. Good luck and wares those pictures? Thanks.
