My spilotes cage Del and I built using . . . >

Dan Felice's directions and advice. Dan sent me a 6 1/2 foot male spilotes after we finished the cage. At least he said the tail looked like a male's. Said he'd leave the probing to Del and I if I wanted to make sure. We'll, I had to be sure so Del came over with the probes and told me to get the male out of the cage so he could probe him. I said I just got him in the cage. LOL. Everything went O.K. and he's a male. I needed to know so I could tell Marc Lucas what sex spilotes I needed for the mate.

sounds like you have several new breeding projects ahead.
All cool stuff.

couple of years with acquiring some new snakes to work with and breed. Not only were we fortunate to obtain the snakes we wanted, but were fortunate that the breeders were great quality people. I'll check and see if our web site link attaches to this post. I've been picking up a few Asian rat snakes to work with each year to go with the North Americans. I focus on the rat snakes and Del focuses on Pituophis. He has and takes care of the Pits and I have and take care of the Elaphe/Pantherophis except I keep a pair of cape gophers that I haven't been able to part with yet. My new project is the Spilotes. I love them and it would be great if they cooperate and breed for me this year. I don't know why the female wouldn't cooperate; she was only taken out of Honduras and shipped to Florida and then to California. HeHe. Then medicines were put down her throat and she was quarantined for awhile. I didn't even hold her so as not to pick something up and transfer to my collection. I don't know if it will attach, but I trying to put our web site URL on this post. You can check our future projects/breedings.

I remember when one of you first posted that your wife surprised you with the website.
I'd heard of Del's stuff on the Pit forum, too.
I'm thinking of getting a pit project going, but can't decide which type. I like the big, yellowish bulls with reddish saddles that you see now and then as W/Cs. I dont know who has them, though. Maybe J. Cherry?
I may go the route of Mex. bairdi, though.
Or, possibly, keys corns.
Dunno-I have very ltd. space and most of it is taken up by carns and ratsnakes.
Oh, BTW, cool website. Looks less corporate than many.

today. Jason at Envy Reptiles in Utah has some gorgeous pituophis morphs he's been kicking out real good now. Check his web site. I was hoping to make it to the San Diego Show he had a table at last year, but didn't make it. His sonorans and San Diego gophers are second to none. IMHO. Deppei Deppei and Deppei Jani are really cool. They seem tostart out drab and turn into awesome looking snakes. Shannon Hiatt has some nice Deppei Deppei he's producing. My partner Del got his pair of each from John Ginter. Del's deppei deppei and deppei jani turned out sweet, especially the female jani. You remembered the story behind the web site? Thanks for the comments and remembering. Good luck with the Bairds and finding a project to work with that you will enjoy.
