Daytona.....

KenCasstevens Jul 28, 2006 07:26 PM

Hey everybody. I recently just decided to go to the Daytona expo this year for the first time. I'm looking forward to bringing some new Thayeri back home. Are any of you all going? If so maybe we could get together, and talk Thayeri over a couple shots of Jager. lol.

Look for a guy named Mitch Allen, he has a very nice line of thayeri. He usually shares a table with a guy named Rusty. They are both from Louisianna. You can't go wrong.

Just watch out for guys selling crosses as thayeri, they are a dime a dozen.

Thanks a lot Russ. I've heard that name before somewhere. I'll be sure to find him.

Don't forget to come by #434 and say Hi. I won't have any thayeri at that time but will have mex-mex.
Mitch always has some nice mexicana at his table as do others.
Come by and I'll put you in touch with them.

I will be there with my wife and son and a few friends. I don't have a booth; I'll just be drooling at everything. Mitch had some nice Thayeri but the couple I was interested in went quick while I hesitated. Moral is, don't hesitate; the real nice ones will go quick. There where a few crosses around but the people I talked to said they were crosses. Hope you like Ball Pythons, seemed like 2/3's of the booths had Ball Pythons. People had Leopard Gecko's and Ball Pythons, Milksnakes and Ball Pythons, Bearded Dragons and Ball Pythons, etc. and Ball Pythons.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks Rick. This will be my first time to go to Daytona, and I'm really excited. My first priority is going to be a female melanistic Thayeri. After that more thayeri, and more thayeri. I'm working three jobs right now just so I will be able to afford whatever I want. I'm going to take your advice. I'll be getting there right as the doors open, and hope to find what I want quick. I'm coming with my girlfriend who doesn't really care for snakes that much, but she'll just have to be bored. lol. I was making progress with her until last night when my 5 ft boa bit her in the face which was wierd because he hasn't made any attempt to strike, or bite in several years. Of course she freaked out because she was bleeding, and now she wants nothing to do with them at all. Oh well, guess I'll have to start over with her. Anyway, I'll look forward to meeting you, and your family. See you there.

Ken, the show is enormous; I saw stuff as people were breaking down Sunday afternoon that I hadn’t seen all weekend and I was through every aisle at least 10 times. It is “stimulus overload” defined. Not as many nice Thayeri as I would have thought, but a few (depends on what you want). There are bleachers that overlook the show hall; have your girlfriend bring something to read and she can sit up there, that’s what my son did when he got tired. She could just go to the beach too, although it felt like a sauna during the day. You know you’re pretty much hosed now getting her to like snakes (lol).

Yeah I am pretty much screwed as far as that goes. She tried again with my hatchling Thayeri, but was nervous with one even that small. I'll keep working on her though. Hard to find a women who likes snakes in the mid south. I've got 12 new Thayeri babies, but for some reason my dig camera software won't load. I'll try to get pics soon.
