i was there for 27 days. I hunted 24 nights, but legitimately hunted 22. Before I went I thought I should find at least 5 alterna, any less would be disapointing. If I hadn't found that female 2 nights before I had to leave I would have been seriously annoyed. One nice thing about going for so long is that you get to test some theories, rather than just accept the status quo. Testing theories doesn't always lead to many alterna though.

Testing theories out is how we all figure any kind of snake out better. You get shot down alot while testing those theories but, in the end you WILL find some method that will increase your odds big time. They pay off. Good job on the Alpine snake!

its also nice to be able to come to conclusions based off your own evidence instead of hearsay. Heard of a Lynum sighting in Socal last spring, although there was no voucher.

Oh yes, vouchers are mostly non-existant for good reason these days. I guess you would have to be privilaged lol.

Yeah, sounds like a pretty dang good trip to me! Were you just shootin' for alterna or what? I'd be in heaven if I saw half those snakes on a trip. How long were you there?
