CERTIFIED TO SHIP!!!!!

xblackheart Jul 28, 2006 09:50 PM

I am finally certified to ship. I am finishing the legal paperwork to fax tomorrow and I am Done!!!!! Just thought I'd share the great news.
Also wanted to bring up a question. A local breeder says he ships through UPS and is not certified. He says UPS does not ask what is in the package. Does anyone have thoughts on this. He mentioned that UPS's overnight shipping with a commercial account is less than $20. That seems like the way to go. I mean, I did it the right way and got certified through FedEx, but UPS seems cheaper. Does FedEx give discounts with commercial accounts?
Any feedback would be great.

Also, Fed Ex is giving me the run around about who my rep is. They keep telling me that they can not look that info up, but can only send messages to the rep. Anyone got a number that I can call to find out who my rep actually is?

Again, thanks for the help!

Maybe you can ask them to give your rep a message. Ask for your rep to send you an email. Maybe you can find out that way.
Best of luck to you,
Rob

Congrats. misty, it seems it just depends on your post office. Some seem (from what I hear) to be retentive about whats inside, others do not care.

I got 30 baby eastern collared lizards ovenight priority. The seller said he had better luck since teh package was alwasy in an airconditioned room in priority? So i did it.

I got a call at 6am to come pick up my package and what was in it. They did not care, they just wanted to see what aniamls I bought. They heard them scratching all morning. Now I was lucky and maybe another post office might have done something totally different.

If I were shipping, as a small biz I think I'd go the most legit way. I hae legal hassles. I also kind of hate the postal services. For what they charge, you'd think you'd get more service.

But congrats again.

On their website they say they do not accept snakes to ship. So it is only really legit to send snakes through FedEx as a certified shipper. However, alot of people will ship snakes UPS either unknowingly or pretending like they are lizards.

This can be dangerous because if they decide to do an inspection of the package and find out its a snake they have the option to pretty much do whatever they want.
