I have posted this question last season but I will post again. During the monsoons, when is the best time to road cruise? Immediately after the rain, or a day or two afterwards like in west Texas. Thanks in advance for your input.

We have had our best luck directly after afternoon torrents. Know however, that my experience in AZ is limited and I'm looking for beetles too. Just got back from SE AZ, and missed rains for 4 days. We left Wednesday; they got hammered. Its better to be a lucky herper than a good one...

Hi
Just got back from SE AZ also. I agree with Bill. My friend and I arrived saturday night and it was hot and bone dry with very limited activity until it started to rain on tuesday night. We noticed a lot of activity and had almost all of our finds on wednesday and thursday. There's still some scattered thunder storms in the area now and for the next couple of days with highs in the mid to high 80's. I guess we were about a week early from the good herping weather.
