Yemen Monitor

I ordered a Sav Monitor and what I got was totally different. After much research I believe it is a Yemen Monitor. This is listed in Appendix II of CITES. Is this legal? What regs apply? Any info would be helpful.

They arent hard to tell apart. In fact the Yemeni monitor looks alot like a whitethroat but a bit smaller and different colors and patterns. Looks alot different than a bosc.

I finally got the camera working. Best shots I could do, I'm not a photographer. What I could not get a shot of was the double row of scales that stick up from the top of his tail.
