Female T.c.c. pic

I've been trying for a year to get a good picture of this girl. I give up! At least I got her good side...she was a rescue from a dog attack. I rehabbed her for months. She had a chewed off rear leg, a deep puncture in her shell, and some other minor scrapes. The puncture took forever to heal. Due to the constant treatment, she hates me. She'll stay in her shell for hours if I dare to touch her. The funny thing is, she doesn't mind my dog. He can sniff her through the hardware cloth and she stretches her neck to sniff him back. She's Egbert's lady (Egbert is pictured in my album). They make very pretty babies. Soon, I may actually be able to keep some. I may be able to get a permit to possess more than 4 T.c.c. Some of my friends have juveniles from this pair, and they're really stunning (most anyway).

She is a beauty! She looks like a senior citizen to me.

I've had her for 6 years. Her shell was already fairly smooth when she was brought to me. I suspect that she's old also. She acts old...dignified even. I like to observe her interactions with the other turtles from a distance. She's the queen of the pen. She prefers "seasoned citizen"

I also posted some pics of a Desert Box turtle under "pic request" below. I'm late on that one.

I viewed this late Ken- What a beauty! You'll have to share a few pics of her babies!

Was she bred to a light colored male?

Now that I have a decent camera, I'd be happy to share pics of her babies. As you know, though, Easterns are not all that colorful upon hatching. It usually takes some time. The exception, of course, would be your little gems.

This is the male that she's been breeding with for 6 years. I'm getting excited, she's acting like she may actually triple clutch. I've NEVER had one do that. I keep them outdoors and I'm too high in elevation to get these long southern summers. This winter was so mild, though.

Nice breeders! That combination of both light colored adults is wise and should show incredible colored babies. Can't wait to see them!

What a beauty both her and her mate are!

If I'm successful with my eggs, want to consider a baby swap?
