Power is back on...

cmsuphoto Jul 29, 2006 12:54 PM

Ok, update from STL. Our power is finally back on, but some in the area still don't have power, so keep them in your prayers. The snake eggs are surviving, but i have a question about that.

THey were laid May 17th. I've kept them, aside from the bump in the power, at approximately 80 degrees in an incubator I bought, not made. It's now almost August, and still no heads popping through. Two have shriveled up a little, but most are almost bursting, they are so big. I had a slight fungus problem, but that was taken care of without issue. So, the question is, how long should I wait?!?! Maybe it's just me being impatient, but I wanna see these babies! I bred the wierd girl pictured below back to her dad, and I have no idea what I'm gonna get. It's like a box of chocolates, to quote Forrest Gump.

Any thoughts?

I did not do the math, but if you have a couple starting to dimple, that is generally a sign that you should have babies pipping in the next few days.
Good luck.
I never had to, but I planned to help pip my eggs at 70 days, but I also had my temps about 84. Some people wait 80 days, some people never assist the pipping. It is entirely up to you.
Most my eggs pipped at 55 days. One clutch took 61 and another started at 49 days(a clutch of cal king eggs).
