Outdoor enclosures

I am new to the forums and have nocticed several people asking about materials in building one. Just my 2 cents, but this has worked remarkably well for me......
I built a structure using landscaping timbers-the kind you can buy at any Lowe's, Wal-Mart, whatever, for around $4 each. once the structure is built (mine is 16 feet long and about 4 feet wide)I then had to put a simple 1X4 piece of wood across the top, overlapping the inside. This is very important because the younger the turtles, the more they will try to climb up the timbers and get out. This is also quite practical for observation-my 2 year old is always leaning on the 1X4 and watching the turtles. The timbers are stacked 4 high.
I'm sure that there are better built ones out there, but I could not be any happier than I am with mine. Another huge advantage: My wife LOVES the backyard and works on it quite often. The sight of landscaping timbers only adds to the decor. You would not even know turtles were in there it you do not look into the set up.
OK, hope this might help someone!
