I have an egg that is going to hatch soon and i put a light up to it and the baby is on the botton of the egg is that normal? and there is small slit that looks like it on the outside of the of the bottom of the egg what could that be?

I have never put a light to an egg that is older than 2 weeks so I don't know that one. I would leave the eggs alone once they are set up. It can be very exciting if these are your first eggs but leaving them alone is your best set. It would suck to incubate an egg and then accidentally drop it late in development.
