Don't you just love babies......

drimes Jul 30, 2006 12:58 PM

Here are a few photos of a litter born just today!

32 perfect babies, ZERO slugs, Zero deformities or stills!

We are very encouraged to see this because the previous litter we got from this particular female was mostly slugs and 5 live babies.

Mom is STILL holding on to her nice yellow color. Kathy and her yellow boas, she has a theory that yellow makes all boas look better!!

Hopefully these kids will grow to gain as much color as mom has!

congrats!
Its good to see some normals being made and it looks like you got some nice ones in there...some of the morphs now a days are getting a lil too wild for my blood (sorta reminds me of my cornsnake days)..Im starting to lean towards true redtails myself..but im hopeing to make some crazy colored normal bci this year take care Rich

There are still a few of us die hards out there, Rich, that are hooked on the good looking "Normal" Colombian boas. After all, they are a staple in most everyone's collection. Locality boas are simply "Normal" boas from a known locale so I understand how you like them too! It is hard to compete with Nature when it comes to producing beautiful animals.

Those are some wonderful looking babies! Great to have more and more babies isn't it!? It's all good!

any chance you used a different male with her this time? If so, it sounds (looks) like you have a good pair.

drimes Jul 30, 2006 07:20 PM

We did use a different male with her this year Chris. Perhaps that is one of the reasons for a more successful breeding. Her babies from last years breeding all came out nice but I think this litter is going to be even better as dad was more colorful and cleaner than last year's dad.

Here is one of last year's babies from Daisy.

The female (Daisy) delivered ALL of those babies in about 20 minutes today. We had checked on her before starting to clean water bowls today and went back about 20 minutes later to check again, as she had been very active this morning, and found that we missed the entire birth.

Daisy is doing well and waiting impatiently for her rats to thaw!

That baby from last year is gorgeous. With the perfect litter though I would keep those two for each other!
