Steve Gooch has a pair of 99's that are under 12'. We have a female that produced this year, and she is 9' as an 03; the male who bred her is 8'. The males are in the 8-10' range as well. But with that said, if you feed the heck out of one needlessly your going to have a bigger than average dwarf tiger.

jim, what is the average... and how many snakes are you including into this number? have you actually taken any test statistics, or are you being subjective?

if the feeding schedule is held back on an average dwarf... is that really an accurate representation?

Brian,

If you'll notice I was speaking of adults producing offspring and that are established. If it makes you happy, I could have included all the dwarf tigers breeding in Oklahoma as well. But as I assume you'll point out as usual that whatever number I use won't be sufficient as usual. Considering dwarf tigers have been around since 99, and the animals I mentioned are from that clutch as well as others i see often. I consider that a good basis in "my own opinion".

And we've seen what has been openly stated as a 'heavy' feeding schedule will result in. How do you know, and presume I or anyone else is purposely underfeeding animals? You don't, but thats your opinion and what you choose to presume; and use to negate others opinions bro.

The question was asked for an average size, I posted the avergaes of the animals I see in person owned by several differant parties. And yes some are fed heavier than others. thats where the gap in the lower number compared to the higher comes in sir.

... dwarf or not,

keep feeding those retics and that "average" will soon change with time...

one could easily keep a normal retic small by holding back on food... which by all means could be considered a natural thing.

even if you feed a retic heavy and it gets "obese"... dont feed it for a few months and watch it drop the pounds.

Go ahead and get them obese, whether dwarf or normal. They don't loose length and the effects it can have on their bodies doesn't change much after the fact. So that point doesn't make much sense here. Accusations of feeding only go so far brian. I don't agree with some of your thoughts, as you with mine. So why bring this here when it's plain to see its a worn out topic. I get tired of the thing always getting to the same point, dont you?

do the explaining when people come back pissed about their dwarf/superdwarf getting 16ft/12ft respectively... lol!!!!

have fun with that one jim... meanwhile i'll sit back and continue to make my snakes fat... lol!!!!!

One thing you are right about. I will enjoy and have fun with our dwarfs and superdwarfs!

BWatkins Aug 01, 2006 10:25 AM

dont be afraid of the truth jim.

BWatkins Aug 02, 2006 10:31 AM

jim you know, and i know you take great care of your animals -by no means was i meaning otherwise.

debate about feeding. i wouldnt under feed but i wouldnt pound with found like i have heard of some ppl doing to get them to breeding size asap. and i was just wondering a about average size cause i have heard alot of debate on size. and main question was are there such thing as a super dwarf super tiger yet?

bebo Aug 01, 2006 05:18 PM

No superdwarf-supertigers yet. The superdwarf tigers aren't old enough to breed yet. So it will be a bit longer before we see them. But with the nice appearance the SDtigers have, I'm sure the supertigers will be sweet as well.
