injured snake

ifritowner Jul 31, 2006 01:03 AM

im a new snake owner and about a month and a half ago i purchased a baby ball python from a local pet store. the other day i was out of the house and somehow my snake manages to dislodge the temperature gauge from the wall and gets stuck in the sticky glue, and im guessing it then proceeded to rub the glue off on its hide box or so, because when i got home i found the temperature gauge on the tanks floor and a sections of scales sticking to it, when i looked at my snake he had a big white area where all the scales were missing. im guessing it will leave a scar, he hasnt shed yet since ive owned him and im wondering if there are any snake antibiotics or anything i can do for the raw scaleless area on his body?

I once had a snake with a similar injury, and I was told to treat the wound with hydrogen peroxide and neosporin, just like a boo-boo on a knee.
