Update My cream that had bad belly wound

HerpZillA Jul 31, 2006 02:09 PM

All I can say is WOW.

If anyone recalls I said I found a very very bad belly wound on a creamsicle of mine. I bought it in Feb. as a tiny baby. It was so bad I was thinking of putting her down, but due to her attitude I didn't.

The wound has healed far better then I hoped. Just skin color no scales, but again I thought this girl would never make it.

Baby pic with a big meal in late feb or very early march?

Same snake today

Pic of the scare.

Last a rather large tokay I got in from someone. He was on my uploads from my cell. Sorry pics are not the best. My dog cracked my C-700, and to use it I have to tape in battiers.

But the cream, did very nice in my opinion. She eats like an african rock! lol

good job.
looks like it has healed nicely.
Aren't you glad you decided to see how it would do?
How did it get hurt, by the way?

Well if anything I'm honest. Part was neglect. I think she may have gotten bit, then shed and the shed stuck? That's what the very bottom looked like. The neglect part was she was in a tub, I never checked all to often, filled water, and fed, and spot clean once then clean. She was such a good feeder, I never thought much on doing a body check. Well, I guess she tipped her bowl, which I did not see, since it went back to the upright position. Wet cage a sore = bad news. Funny thing was I was having that fly trouble to from the moss and eggs. And fly larva were in the sore, but that may have been the best thing for her to clean dead meat.

Bottom line she and others are getting checked more often. But I never had anything like that in my life.. In fact I usually bring home belly burned snakes to rehab that customers bring in.

Maybe she will be big enough next year for breeding? Although I have a lot of amel blood stuff, so I may wait til she is really big to start her.

take care

Tom
