I want to purchase a Pastel . But im not sure what line to get. I want one that will retain its colors. I was thinking about getting a female IF breed with a normal male will you still get pastels?

no way really to tell.........I got the best one of the year from a guy .....the first out too........he is not pretty anymore.........he has made kids that are/were ok...and some grew up to be better than he is......as good as theyt were hatched out at......
I have Bell's,a NERD ,and a Graziani and they are all the same almost..........actually NERD's are a little different.....but still grow up as pretty or ugly as they want......
......I like the Bell's.......

20% isn't bad
lots of snakes love them....and there are more things in the world than balls......
they breed like crazy ...........and............
From what I have seen and read, pastals do fade as they age, but some retain their color longer than others (maybe the lemon pastals remain bright?)
As pastal is a co-dominant trait, I beleive you have a 50% per egg of it being either a normal, or Pastal.

I would say the only Pastel that really keeps its color, or keeps it the best is a Super Pastel.

Thank you everyone..
Frome the adults that I have seen personally, the blondes seem to hold their color the longest...but that is just what I thought. Maybe others have seen different.

...Can't...stop...must...get...more...balls...
Go with the Blonde Pastels. They color up better with age. Here are some pics of my '03 Blonde Pastel male breeding a Black Pastel female and a couple of '06 Blonde hatchlings I produced this year.

Bell's. Never produced pastels that weren't top notch and not one has browned out with age. Still bright as ever. Check for you-self with the link.
