Fat tail passed & Speedy not doing well?

bmulcahy Jul 31, 2006 04:31 PM

I have four beardeds (all about3 years old). I have never been able to get the perfect set-up. They are all in their own cages and I even purchased large vision cages. Well, Fat Tail was very lethargic and not eating for months. I took him to the vet and tested the fecal and for salmonella(spelling?), Iswitched vets and nothing! Unfortunately he just passed- It was peaceful (I think!). Speedy is the same way and doesn't eat - I force feed her every other day baby food with a syringe. She doesn't look good. Is there a basic medicine I can try? How can i get it? I am very unhappy with LI vets - no luck and a lot of $$$$! Thanks in advance!

Brian

ps Temps good range and new lights =- I have tried everything - I think!

Salmonella isn't the only thing the vet should be testing for in a fecal...parasites are more a problem than salmonella in bearded dragons.

From what info you have given, it's a bit difficult to know what is wrong with your dragons. Where they bought from a breeder or a petshop? What are their current weight and lengths? What is the basking temp? Substrate? and when they did eat, how much and of what, did they eat? Has the vet done any blood work on either dragon?

THough you indicated the dragons are housed separately, was this recently or since you purchased them? Are they in visual sight of eachother or in the same room (or different rooms?).
