I love the Eco Earth - 3pk (Zoo-Med) its like $5 for a 3 full buckets worth .

It comes in hard compressed coconut fibers which are soft when ready. Its a hard brick you put it in a bucket of water (I use 1/4 of the bucket filled with out water) drop the brick in it and cover the bucket so its humid few minutes later break it up real easy .

In 2 days even inside its dry and not dusty at all and looks great. I read its safe to eat and looks safe . I am infact eating some as I post this lol kidding.
Its easy to clean if you wet it it dries fast and holds snake poo than you scoop it out and doesnt give off anything that stains snakes .

I'm old school, I guess. I use good old fashion news paper!

Doesnt newspaper get ink on them? I dont like the look as prefer more natural and my snakes like to dig but I see lots use newspaper and I would think the snakes get stained.

I have seen a few occaisons where the snake dumped a water bowl and then sat coiled under wet news paper and it did appear as if the ink bled a little on the snake. It hasn't been a problem since I switched to heavier water bowls.

Okay thanks. I would have thought that the ink would rub off on them even while the paper was dry .
