Blackthroat querie

General-Zod Aug 03, 2003 01:04 PM

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and new to monitors. Anyway last week I took the plunge and got myself a 20inch juvenile Blackthroat. He has been very active and feeding well over the last few days but today he has not come out of his hide AT ALL.

Is this normal?

Gaper is kept in a temporary enclosure 4'2'2' fitted with a ceramic heater attached to a thermostat, a spotlight and a UV tube. The temps are a range of 130 - 80. He has eaten crickets, locusts and one pinkie.

Try feeding him ADULT mice. Do you have any roaches avalible? What are the temps in his hide box? I am quessing that you just got him...? I would leave him totally alone for a few days, or even a week. He is stressed out about somthing. Are there any other animals that he can actually see? If you have any more questions feel free to email me at: monitors4you@hotmail.com
I have bred blackthroughts, and kept many.
Thanks, Jed
